10646719_960592937301088_8466824374490849811_nBack in 2012, we introduced you to Light Gives Heat, an organization started by Dave and Morgan Hansow, two social entrepreneurs dedicated to running companies that impact the world.

Over the years, the LGH story has grown and changed—its most recent evolution: the launch of LGHtv.

Getting to this point has been a journey for the Hansows, to say the least. “We decided to tell the interconnected story of our journey and the incredible lives of the people we came to love in Uganda, Africa,” write the Hansows on their website. “We assembled a stellar team of storytellers and artists to create a feature-length documentary called Moving On. As our film played at Film Festivals, International TV Networks, and is about to make its US debut, we’ve seen the power media has to not only entertain, but to change lives.”

Long story short, the Hansows have come across “hundreds of world-changing stories being lived out across the globe that deserve an audience.” The discovery of those stories led to the pilot of a TV show, The Find. Unfortunately, American networks believed The Find was “too earnest, too good” for the US audience and the Hansows were told they’d have to go outside of America to “find an audience that cares.”

But they believed otherwise (as do we), and they pressed on. Out of their determination that telling compelling stories of risk-taking individuals and life-changing projects was worth it, LGHtv was born.

We’ve seen the power media has to not only entertain, but to change lives.

The FIND: INDIA (Season One) – Trailer from LGHtv on Vimeo.

“Our dream is to build LGHtv into an online Network of Shows and Films that entertain, inspire, and remind humanity that we all are much more capable than we’ve been led to believe.”

Season One of The Find is currently available to view online (here), with a new episode being added every Tuesday, but LGHtv could use some help spreading the word and making this dream a reality. If you believe an online network of inspiring, world-changing shows is worth it, here’s how you can help.

  • Invest in LGHtv financially
  • Shop the LGH online store to support world-changing projects
  • Share LGH and your favorite LGHtv on social media
  • Partner with LGH through corporate sponsorship or brand integration
