If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This was our mantra working with Eva Longoria for our 3rd campaign in 2011! With an enormous heart for people and a real understanding of how philanthropy and social media work together, we asked Eva Longoria to be the spokeswoman for another campaign after meeting the amazing team @ CARE - an organization fighting for the education of girls and women in over 80 countries.
Between those meetings with CARE and this video, we were hooked and Eva was too:
We decided to partner with CARE & Eva Longoria to launch a TwitChange campaign in conjunction with International Women's Day to help provide education for over 1,000 girls in developing countries all over the world. Here's Eva asking celebrities to join the campaign:
Just as before, fans were able to bid on the chance to be followed, mentioned, or retweeted by their favorite celebrities with proceeds benefiting CARE. As always, many celebrities threw amazing bonus prizes in and we were all shocked when celebrity photographer, Jeremy Cowart,
decided to include photoshoots with his auctions and ended up raising more money than celebrities with 20x-50x the followers. Here is an article about the great gifts Jeremy offered.
Our campaign and auction were a huge success and we were able to provide a ton of awareness for CARE and surpassed our goal of providing enough funding to educate 1,000 girls all over the world. Still in our first year, TwitChange has received over 75 million hits, and received accolades for our innovative way to get fans, causes, celebrities, and brands all on the same page!
