The stories are in! Now it’s up to us to vote on which stories should make the book!
Hundreds of authors have submitted stories to CausePub — a crowd publishing startup aimed at uniting a community of storytellers to “Create best-selling books that directly impact specific causes.” This first CausePub project, called Couch Rebels: Because Stories Like These Aren’t Told by Potatoes, will benefit Blood:Water Mission, and organization working to “Empowering Communities to Work Together Against the HIV/AIDS & Water Crises in Africa.”
Interview with Mike Lenda of Blood:Water Mission
Over the last few months, the CausePub team has encouraged budding storytellers, writers and bloggers to share their own short stories. Now that the stories are in, fans will vote on their favorites. The editors will then select which stories will be published in the first CausePub book.
The book will be available for purchase on Amazon on August 14. Proceeds of this first project go directly to Blood:Water Mission. The charity will receive 50 percent of proceeds from book sales. The goal is to sell 15,000 copies. If that goal is met, Blood:Water Mission would have the opportunity to provide clean water to 45,000 people for one year!

CausePub is a Colorado-based startup built on three facts:
- Stories change lives.
- Everyone’s got a story (or two…or ten).
- Three cords are stronger than one.
CausePub creates book projects that are a compilation of stories from various writers, bloggers, artists and authors from different walks of life — all united by the common goal of impacting the world through great stories.
And non-profits will benefit directly from the published works. (Writers get paid, too!)
How You Can Partner With CausePub
The story submission deadline for this first project has already passed, but now is the time for you to read the stories and vote for your favorites.
Do you have a story to tell? This project is only the first of many! Follow CausePub on Facebook and Twitter so you’ll be first to know when submissions are open for the next project, which will benefit a different charity!
